Vx Comfort Improvements ?

Hello All> I have a '96 VX landcruiser. Wondering if there are any tried and tested ways to make the ride less rough. I dont think its any worse than when i got it, but now i have a wife and kids and they dont want to use it because its so bumpy. I talked to a few local dealers, one talked me into a set of airbags for the rear shocks. That set me back 900 euros and zero improvement. Tires are smooth road type not not off-roaders, 275/17.

Any ideas ?

Thanks as always for any help you can give.

First of all, welcome to the club :D

I'm no expert, but I too noticed that the ride in my 2004 RAV4 5 door is rougher than my old saloon car. I put this down to the fact that I'm now in a 4x4 which by it's very nature has a stiffer chassie. This I know will cause a rougher ride.

I also suspect, because it's a 4x4, it has stiffer suspension to cope with the off roading.

My 2000 VX is fine. It may be worth checking that the ride suspension settings are working. If you switch between 'Comfort' and 'Sport' there should be a significant difference.
