Burning Rubber Anyone?

celica gt4...took it for a spin and at the end it smelt like burning rubber but i hadnt wheel spun at all...i got the revs pretty high a few times and also their is a problem with the clutch...is the smell explainable by a clutch problem or is there anything anyone else can think of to explain it....

Brakes, but their smell is characteristic and you would recognise it.

if i rag it off the lights a couple times the clutch isn't happy and will stink a little :!Removed!:

think its the clutch cos a bit like scooby said it is when i try and rag it in 1st...what are the long term consequences of driving with a dodgy clutch...ie is it worth getting it sorted earlier rather than later to stop other problems or can i drive on it without doing further damage and get it fixed when i actually have a positive bank balance

when the clutch does finally go your not going to be going anywhere so would get it changed earlier rather than stranded....
