Exaust/cat Problem

My mate has a MR2 Roadster and recently had problems with his exhaust / cat convertor. The garage he took it to said that MR2's have 3 cat convertors but has repaired his car and only put one on, saying this was ok. My mate now has a warning light on in the car which means there's a problem with the cat convertor / exhaust.

So, does an MR2 have 3 cat convertors, and will it run ok on just one??

I have no idea about cars etc so sorry if any of the above doesn't make sense!

The car should run fine - you dont need a cat to run a car.

you just need a cat to pass an MOT, its all about emisions. ;)

As long as his emisions are below required, it should be ok.

What does the light on the dash say / look like ?

its pobably that hsi exhaust gas temp sensor or oxygen/lamba sensor is not installed / disconnected ?
