a WHILE AGO THERE WERE rumours about a remap of the standard t sport ecu.

Has anyone got any news about this????

Secondly looking at the post t sport dyno test it seems that the ecu is remapped in different parts of the eu.I thought the stock t sport had 189 bhp but it seems that its 192 in germany(lucky buggers).

Any thoughts on this???

Not sure how feasable this is (probably talking out of my @rse again) but Germany have 100RON huarenteed fuel, could this make 3Bhp difference if mapped to use a higher octane fuel ?

I will have to see what my wallet is doing but I will definately be trying as it is only 30 minutes away from where I live :)

Would be nice to get some extra practice in. I finish work at 4 so I could be there in plenty of time for the start and not have to travel to far to get home as well....

ECU remap.

I'm still waiting for any solid info.

Power:

All TS in EU should have 192 HP. The 3HP difference is probably due to petrol type/quality.

In Poland specs say 192HP, but mine TS tested 189,5 HP.

I don't see why they'd change mapping for different countries in EU. It would be too expensive, and emission regulations are all the same across EU, aren't they?

So for me it must be fuel.

What fuel do they reccomend for TS in UK and what in Germany ? Is it NoPB 95 (eurosuper)? This is the one reccomended in PL, but we also have NoPB 98 (eurosuper plus) and NoPB99.

In fact I was thinking about this last night, and I'm going to pour 99+ V-Power next time and clock my TS or even maybe dyno it. I can't really believe some of the people on this forum can stay above the lift zone upshifting 1->2, and the only reason (if they really can, which I doubt) can be the fuel.

Rhaines I will be going on 26th june and im letting my g/f out on the track in it :eek: .

Imek I use Shell optimax im mine tho the toyota dealer said use normal unleaded.

And I cant land in the lift between 1st + 2nd either.

In the uk max power is quoted as 189 bhp torque 133

Here in Italy TS is 192hp and we do not have 98ron fuel  , only Shell V-power (very expensive). I'm lucky because I live close to Switzerland where I buy 98ron.

What I want to say is I think TS is 192hp with 95ron (or better, Toyota says that...).

The 189 bhp is from the toyota uk website .

Does the 192 come from the toyota website in italy

In the usa it is only 180 bhp but prob cause of the strict emission laws

I'm happy for the pollution here in Europe

but Germany have 100RON huarenteed fuel

Sounds new to me :D

No , we drive also 95ron !

Only the Shell V-Power has 100ron , but it is toooooooooo expensive ! And on the other hand there is no remarkable improvement. Perhaps there is "some more" hp but it isn't worth for the price of this V-Power ! Take another muffler and you will get the same result , for a lower price B)

Only the Shell V-Power is available at 100RON but it is available.....

Those lovely people at Shell have not given us the option to pay the extra for it over here, as some of us have Jap Cars that used ot run 100Ron it would be niceto at least give it a try....

I swear blind by Optimax (98RON+) and would love to try Shell's V-Power product...

difference between 189 in UK spec and 192 in Euro spec is cuz it is measured by different standards... it is exactly the same spec car, same engine, same ecu... just british have some different standard to measure hp

as i said long time ago, ECU remap stories on these forums are pure crap, 2zzge has been on the market for 3+ years and nobody did it yet cuz it is ineffective

One Question for everyone

Which exhaust will give a power increase without too much noise

oh and no cat

Not sure about exhausts for the Yaris, I know that Mongoose is superb quality though....

If you take the CAT of the Yaris you'll need to replace it every year to pass the Emissions test for the MOT and then de-cat it again...

This might be true. Though the dealer I talked to swears >some< chip tunning will be available for CTS this fall...

And BTW, is there supercharger available for our engines (i mean not turbo, but the mechanical compressor)?

spwolf.

I know this thread but this is turbo, isn't it? Meant kompressors like they install in mercedes kompressor engine. (driven by the shaft, not exhaust gasses).

if is fed by a shaft rather than the exhaust gasses then it would surely be a supercharger wouldn't it...

Alwasy believed turbo's to be fed by gasses and SC's to be fed by shaft which is why you get the extra power throughtout the range...

The 192HP could just be becuase it's a PS figure or something,

I know for every 100HP it's 101.2PS or something

I ve found the CTS gets with powerchips - http://www.autosport-fr.com/site_anglais/p...teforme_ang.htm

+13 hp

+14 torque

+15 Kmh

€ 460 or about £330

1) is that likely stats.

2) has anyone got one

3) how hard are they to install as they send the kits in the post

or could this differance be due to how they test the cars, or is that normal

but the powerchip is for the Corolla 1.8 VERSO and not for the TS !

In Germany is a firm which offers a powerchip for the TS :

+25hp

+20 torque

790€

but I don't know the web-addy ... perhaps coming soon ... :)

yes , that's another choice :D

So , I've got the link for the +25hp chip fom above : www.nowack-tuning.de (But the chip for the TS isn't in the list !!!)

But I've got another link : www.reinert-tuning.de

+19hp ; +25nm ; 549€

I've never heard of Powerchip so would personally stick with the Unchip for that srt of price range or something like Motec engine mgmt system if money allowed and a lot more playing was done with the car....
