If it helps I stumbled across a F-reg 3.0i na recently that the guy just needed out the way and hadn't been using.

I got that for £250, 128,000 on clock, FTSH, 2 cam belt changes and all the past m.o.t.s etc.

It was filthy and needed a good clean up but i can't fault it. Needs rocker cover gasket changed which i bought for £10 and some brake pads but everything works a/c, cruise control and in fairly good condition.

It's hard to check everything but for that money worth the risk in my opinion. Just check all the main things, have a good look at the oil etc (no expert but sure others will comment) and it is easy to walk away if you have major concerns.

Good luck, keep us posted

head gasket... notorious for it. Look for overheating signs, gurgling noises, expansion tank overflow.

Ball joints....

Those are the two major problems....

Well i went and looked at it.It,s got a full leather interior/cruise control, brand new cd player, timing belt was done at 80000 miles.Only problem is the starter motor is sticking, but we got it started and it sounded really sweet, bit of history with it as well and it,s non turbo and manual and there is no rust at all on the arches and the usual places!! he said that i could take the price of a new starter motor and the labour to fit it off the price as well!!so i,m looking at getting it for £150. Oh and it,s got an electric drivers seat that does all sorts.
