I've owned the car for about 6 weeks and now the radio has decided to go on the blink :(

All of my pre-set stations still operate - radio tunes in and I get a good signal/sound from the unit, but it just won't hold the RDS feature, which means no traffic information or Alternative Frequency searching and it struggles to seek & acquire new station signals <_<

Even on my local station, if I press the appropriate button, the screen pops up with 2-Ten FM but within 30 seconds reverts to the actual frequency 102.9.

Spoke to Inchcape Basingstoke last night - absolutely no issues due to age of car (18 months old) - they want me to come in so that a technician can test the unit to confirm the problem, then book it in to have the dash stripped down, my unit removed and all connections etc. checked - if nothing obvious at that point, they'll fit a new unit!! (a good time to get a connect2 unit installed me thinks). They're disregarding aerial connections at this time as I still get a good signal (I did wonder if the connection between the hatch and the roof section could have come loose - will check this myself this weekend just in case!)

Apart from that, the car has been fine - except for a squeaking sound when I open the rear hatch - they've applied oil to the hinges and gas struts (should they do that?) but the sound quickly came back. Since it only happens on the first time of opening, and I use my wifes 1998 Vectra for lugging around rubbish & junk etc I'm not too bothered.

It's bl**dy typical !!! radio has started to behave itself again <_< All stations now show their correct names instead of the frequency :)

Only sour note to this glimmer of good news is I've gone 'n' scuffed the n/side front wing whilst trying to garage it yesterday :crybaby:

Only very slight scratches but engough to go down to the primer in a couple of places - do I use the official touch up paint I've already got or do I try a polish with a colour pigment built in? any thoughts?
