Scratch To Windscreen

My windscreen got scratched the other day. It's not a bad scratch but it is in the line of sight and is very visible in the low level sun we have at this time of year.

Does any one know if there are any products I could use to polish the scratch out a little bit or am I going to have to get it professionally dealt with.

Think Autoglass etc may offer a polishing service - maybe even on insurance - if not try jewlers rouge or similar very (very !) fine polishing compound.

Anything as coubik as Brasso etc will be too much I think.

Unsure now but think I saw something in Halfords a while back - will look again over the weekend.
