Air Conditioner Problems

My 2003 corola LE air conditioner cuts out when the outdoor temps are hot, just when I want it. It cycles on and off but mostly off. I remember seeing a comment about some circuit needing replacing because it thinks the engine is overheating and cuts out the air to protect it. However, the engine is not overheating. Anyone know about this problem? What circuit? One in the air conditioner system or the main engine control circuit? The car's air worked great for the first year.

Well since its a newish car, I'm guessing its still in the warranty period? If so take it back to a good dealer and ask them about it. The only thing that immediately springs to mind from a general AC point of view, is that if the aircon system is leaking, then the compressor can spin too fast and overheat, and some systems have a cut off which operates in this situation.
