Hi everyone. Just today i installed a vaccum and a volt gauge for my 94' seo. They were pretty straight forward, except for the vaccum hose which was abit tricky. At first i could not find the correct connection. So i tried to take the reading from the manifold. BUt realised it was wrong.

Finally i found the correct connection. (sorry i dun know the terms but i'll try to describe as best as i can) But the funny thing was that there was this tube, running from the engine to "something" which has 2 tubes together. I took the one at the back and took a reading from there. The other end of this pipe was loose, not connected to anywhere, but i found a lil socket which was free so i just plugged it into it. Viola! it worked perfectly. vaccum reading was around 21.

Rev-ed the engine and the vaccum went down almost to 0, junmped back up to 25 and slowly went back to idle of around 21. The problem is...as the needles goes back from 25 to 21, the engine has some sounds and seems like its gonna stall. But it did not. So, i went for a test drive around and at the traffic lights, i realised my engine idle speed on the tacho was only around 550 - 600 rpm...and the engine feels like its gonna stall (but it did not) WEIRD... it shoud be just below 1000 right?

This only happened after i connected that loose pipe back to some socket with the vaccum reading tapped from it. Any idea what happened?

I think i fouind out whats the problem already. I got the terms correct now i suppose. The tube that was loose was just next to the dipstick. It was for the fuel pressure regulator to connect to the throttle body. I guess it came off loose when i check my oil. Regarding the low rpm at idle. It was a stupid mistake. I removed the air filter and realised i forgot to put back the oxygen sensor... there was a hole in the air filter box cover. I hope my engine will be ok..

the vacuum line for the regulator is the best place to take a vacuum reading from. cut it and t piece into it. thats there i had my boost gauge in the glanza.
