For 80's hot hatchs and other sporty vehicles of that decade (not modified) the majority seems to be:

185/60 R14 (Corolla GT & GTi ran this size)

&

195/50 R15

I'm running 195x45x16 Pirelli P Zeros on my Corolla but they are definitely non standard (205's are too wide for my rear arches :crybaby: ) - but I'll need some later this year :shutit:

arounnd £50 a corner a good price for those? (including VAT and delivery).

as an aide - how do you find them?

I have them all round on my car, and to be frank - I'm getting shut.

get too much wheelspin with then - don't mean full throttle racing starts either - normal merge into traffic at junctions / roundabouts type starts.

I've been getting them for £63 each - that includes valve, fitting, balancing, disposal of old casing and VAT. Plus the place I use have a "padded" machine for removing/fitting tyres so they don't damage the alloys (all the damage to my wheels has been self inflicted :crybaby: )

Just the tyres, fitting and VAT would cost me £98. I reckon £50 a corner is about what I pay at the moment (without the fitting).

Don't have aproblem with the tyres themselves - only get wheelspin when I'm too enthusiastic and then the LSD cuts in anyway :D . I manage about 15,000 miles on a front set and about 18,000 for the rears

  • 2 weeks later...

Original (Winter) = 175/65/R14's michelin energy.

Current (Summer) = 205/40/R17's Bridgestone potenza

Still got alot of tread on both sets but it doesn't hurt to know for the near future.

Cheers

Rich K.
