If its Jap it should have the sticker... but French dont seem to have it (possibly embarrased?). But the sticker could have been removed so check the numbers.

The cars we get here come from both France (Valenciennes, near Lille) and Japan (T-Sport certainly, my last diesel T3 did too), but I believe that variations are also made in Canada, South America, China and Thailand (I'm prepared to be corrected on that though :) )

There are actually an amazing number of detail changes between the Japanese and French Yarii. A comparison of my car and my sister's French Blue (sounds like a dodgy movie  ;)  ) showed totally different components of the rear seat slide/fold mechanism, front and rear wipers, aerial, front seat angle adjustment, bootlid pressing (probably about 60 grand of tooling change there) and, most surprisingly, the key! Mine had a gold "T" built into it (just like a Lexus one, or the one for my boss's Land Cruiser) and Titch's was just a crummy injection moulding.

I always meant to take photos, but never quite got round to it...

From this thread here!

PS I've had both and the quality's just as good in the French ones

Our Blue is french, and she has a sticker in the windscreen to say so..have a look on the VIN plate like it's been said before too, it's on the left hand side of the bonnet as you look towards the car.

Mine had an enormous (and very sticky) sticker telling me about Toyota Roadside assistance! No made in France sticker. The last one had that sticker though. I quite like stickers but only the ones I put on myself. The Supagard and dealer ones are going soon. :bye:

Do you know what - I know Karis had a sticker for definite but thinking about it, I've never checked to see if Kaori has one...... she has the roadside assistance one - Karis also had a minging "Listers" sticker in her windscreen, thankfully, Farmer & Carlisle never stickened my car up for me - havent even got a dealer sticker in the rear windscreen!

I never tried to peel it off b1nda, but it looked awful - Farmer & Carlisle havent branded my new Yaris at all, apart from the numberplates of course! :P

Haven't checked the Chassis number, but Zanipolo has a "Made in France" sticker in her windscreen, and I had to order a "French" part when putting in my new headunit....

...both pretty good clues

By the way, the stickiest substance in the world is whatever they use to attache dealer stickers to the inside of your rear windscreen... They're a nightmare to remove.

Indeed they are. Anyone got any tips for removing them? I'm guessing it's going to be at least meths (I can get the clear IMS) or maybe turps substitute? Dealer sticker is going once my car has been in to them to put a few cosmetic niggles right. I'm scared that if I remove it now they'll put another one on! :P

The one on mine was sort of plastic... I just picked up one corner with the tip of a scalpel and once I got enought purchase pulled it off by doubling it back on itself (ie pulling along the sticker rather than "out" of the screen) and gently wiggling it from sided to side. Got it off in one (rather stretched and crinkled) piece.

Thanks for the tip, Seveer. I'll pop down to my local Wilkos and get some. Chewing gum, eh? As a teacher, it looks like I'll get to use the rest of it too!

P.S. What's a 'bus'?
