OK, so heres my idea... instead of searchin around for an all trac engine for my year... my buddy just happens to have 2 MR2 bodies. one WAS a rear clip with the 3sge engine of a 96 MR2 from Japan, and the other one isnt important lol. So my question is : has anyone seen this swap done? is it possible? tranny swap? direct drop in (mounts + tranny anyways) i know wiring will be a pain but im prepared to take it on. the engine only has 21k m on it. and just by appearance, the mounts seem to be the same as my 89, but thats only upon brief inspection. anyone have ANY info? If anyone has anything, let me know!! :D thanks

yes it's been done before to get that extra couple of break.

Engine mounts are the samne so its a straight swap although you'll need the new ecu and loom etc...

Will work, but you will want to use your current gearbox.. The mr2 has the linkages on the opposite side to the fwd cars. You can adapt the C series boxs (4age, mk1 mr2 and corolla) to use in a mk1 mr2 (from say a corolla!), so i suspect you can do same with the 3sge boxes. But its just easier to use the box you have

THANK YOU haha, iver been tryin to get that simple answer for like 2 weeks, apparently i wasnt tryin in the right spots! My buddy has the harness and the ECU so thats a bonus. But i just want to make sure that its a DIRECT DROP IN haha, it will bolt up to the TRANNY too?? :D

thanks guys
