Flickering Headlamps On Cts

First post so Hello all.

Have noticed a post about flickering headlamps and owners waiting for a fix. At first I thought it was my eyes as the headlamps appear to almost blink/flicker, but not all the time. Mentioned it to my dealer and their is a fix which involves an ECU change. For the technically minded there is an air pump test loop in the ECU and when this is checking the air pump it causes a momentary voltage drop, when coupled with a high draw from the alternator you get this flicker. Simple. The mod'ed ECU I believe has this loop removed. Hope this helps. If a dealer looks at you stupid ask him to search their tech database as it is on there!

Regards

Now that you mention it, my lights go very dim too easily at low revs as you feather the clutch when taking off.... I have a facelift version so surely this problem would have been fixed by now!? Maybe it's a different problem? Should I add this to my small list of problems when I take the car to Toyota to have checked out???

i prefere the red.. mines thunder grey...

my lights are ok now, its a simple ecu change. if your car is anything like mine, you will probably visit your toyota dealer quite regulary... its a shame really.

i did not think the facelift model had this fault anyway, but it would not suprise me... have fun.
