Oil Cooler For 3s-ge.........l

my oil cooler has broke on my 88-89 celica, i have looked through the manual but have now been told by toyota that my engine is a 3s-gel rather than the 3s-ge in the manual.

Can i just bypass this cooler? as i live in britain and its not hot here.

i cant find any referance to this cooler anywhere and toyota want £334 +vat just for part

am student so cant afford that at the moment, plz help-

DEPENDS HOW HARD U DRIVE YOUR CAR UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS U DONT REALLY NEED A COOLER AN AFTERMARKET COOLER WOULD BE A LEAST A THIRD OF THAT COST!!SUM MOCAL COOLERS HERE

do u mean if i accelerate hard ie 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

and wot is the worst that would happen?

cos i have removed it now and am apprehensive- just connected one to other! it wont pop off and spurt oil every where i hope!!

i have seen an oil cooler that sits round the filter, do u think this would be any good?

wot is the difference between 3s-ge and 3s-gel?

The 3sge and 3sgel are the same arent they? mine is an 89 3sge, but in some other things, its a 3sgelc

I've been looing for ages to find a place to get some parts for my old celica..

I'm gonna give the TBC a holler tomorrow as its a bank holiday today to see what they have to offer.

do you know by any chance what the delivery costs are like with them as i live up north in Yorkshire..
