Corolla 1.4gls Auto

looking to replace my volvo 850 and have seen a garage advertising a 1.4gls auto 2000 with low mileage(not seen how low yet)and fsh.for £2450.the car is for daily use to work 6 mile round trip.i know that the auto will be slightly higher fuel consumption than a manual but it will be a lot better than my 2 litre volvo.all advice on what to look out for and how good the autobox is.i presume it will only be a 3 gear auto.cheers.

There are no known problems with Auto Corollas and the fuel consumption isn't as bad as a manual these days. With the 1.4 Some people have said on occasion that gear ratio selection can 'appear' to be a little high sometimes.

Just make usual checks as with any car (a lot did have aircon by now so check). Due to age the 'AE111' (Model code) Corolla doesn't seem to have any 'common' problems as yet.
