Bogging between shifts

Hello, I own a 1988 Camry DLX wagon, I am having an interesting issue w/ bogging between shifts, if you bring it to max power in 1st gear (around 5000rpm), engage 2nd, the engine bogs and lags for a couple 1000 rpm and then pick up returns again,

does anybody have a clue what is going on?

Could it be...

Ignition

Spark plug wire

fuel delivery

throttle cable

here are my mods...

Weapon R Ram Air intake w/ heatshield

Full custom 2.25" exhaust piping w/ straight through muffler

Bosch 4+ pre-gapped spark plugs

Any help would be greatly appreciated

hey I've been searching high and low for after-market parts ie intake, exhaust, chip, suspension for my 91 camry le. Where did you find all your mods? It's really sad that the only thing I've done to make it faster is to drill holes on the air box (ghetto intake).LOL

Hey,

I have been having the same problem in my '89 camry CS sedan...its a 5speed manuel 2 litre... and chucking it into 2nd makes it accelerate slowly for a bit... then when it hits 3500 revs it kicks in again... im not sure either what the problem is, but its annoying. running it on higher octane fuel made it a bit better... but im gonna try changing the timing and see if that fixes it :|
