Drect Line Messing Me Around

If you'd like to know the background on this then look here

So I phoned them again about something else and thought I'd check about the import issue and that it was all sorted and it was still on their records as being insured as a GT!! They now want an extra 40 quid a month as it is a grey import and I'm :censor: fuming. I made a complaint about the :censor: that I spoke to previously and said they should waive the difference as I might not have taken up the policy in the first place, and you can guess their response so I'm looking at almost doubling my policy cost!!

They reckon it costs so much more as parts are more difficult to get hold of for repair, which I am sure they can be, enough to warrant that increase??!!

Needless to say, I'm not happy - how's that TOC counselling forum coming along?!steve

The answer is simple enough... Cancel your insurance with DL and get ringing around. Theres loads of insurance companys that will insure an import, it`s just a matter of having to waste half a day finding the best one.

If DL ask why you want to cancel, tell them straight.. They`re incompetent and some of their staff are idiots. Wont get you anywhere but i`m sure you'll feel better for it.

try norwich union mate .most insurers know diddly squat about import celicas , mention ss3 they think you are on about the trilogy of startrek.your car should be insured as a ss2 with super strut

do it online and save 20 % too.

a few i looked up on the net didnt even recognise an import gt4 , more to the point they didnt want to know about one. norwich union did my import as a uk model saved me £500

try adrian flux they are the only insurance company ive had that have actually lowered the premium .normally no claims bonus is just bull***** that insurance companies dream up for your custom ,but never apply.

they have insured my imported and modified celica for less than other companies will do for a standard uk with no mods

worth a go

I think I wil look around for another insurer, try some of the places you suggested.

If I had smashed my car up, or even hit somebody, they wouldn't have paid out, even though it was their fault.

Sometimes this country stinks, just look at the price of fuel!

cheers guys
