Do I Or Don't I?

I have just seen an oppertunity to get a 2JZ-GTE engine for £1100.

The engine is advertise to having no ancilleries, but comes with turbos injectors, throttle bodies (JDM engines) looks likeapart from the usual bits and bobs, I'll mainly need a loom and ecu...

I am totally rebuilding my 1g-gte anyway, and have already spent about £350 on it getting the head sorted (F1 rebuild + parts) so I'd be out of pocket, however I'm sure I could get most of my money back.. I need to get turbos for it anyway...

I don't particularly like the 1G engine, its slow, thirsty, and impossible to tune due to rarity... a 2j is by FAR the better engine, (clean, powerfull, smooth @ reliable). It should more or less fit, although I have never ever heard of anyone fitting one into a narrow body supra (less weight in the Shell )

My biggest problem right now is money....

My money situation is bad... I have just pretty much been made redundant, although I could just aboput afford the engine, there would be large installation cost, and the car probably won't be ready this year (once I get the engine it'll be a matter of waiting untill I can afford all the parts, i.e. bell housing = £400)

I can't decide folks!!! I'll mean waiting for aaaaaaaaaaaages before I can drive my black TT, it'll also cost me silly money.... but it will be totally awesome.. :D

Any mkiv guys here with lots of cheap spares (management, looms, etc) here to give me less ofa reason to say no??

Yeah man, forget it. For a start i'd have an export 329bhp engine rather than an import 280bhp engine.

Also like you said, money is tight and you know you want an v8 really

V8 means buying a whole new car!!!!! Thats a different story all together! :P

Might seriously struggle getting the weight of a mk2 supra under a tonne though :(

I'm not fussed where the engine comes from.... -It'll hardly be running factory power ;)

I'm going to hold off for now anyway...
