Spare Tyre

Hi, I have a 2003 T3-X model and I checked the spare tyre the other day.

It has never seen the light of day as I bought the car new or so I thought Distinct Road use on it... Will be going back to Mr T for that.

Anyway. its a Steel wheel (Full Size) and as standard on the T3-X alloys all round. Should the Spare also be Alloy?

According to the brochure only the estate has a spare space saving wheel. And of course the T2 which does not come with alloys??

But what have you guys got and what reg is your Car... Comments welcome..

Every car with alloys I've ever had has only had a set of 4 and either a spacesaver or a standard steel wheel in the boot.

Strange thing was my last car was a Celica '52 plate and the spare was an alloy.

Ulro, What model and plate do you have?

Matty2767, What model do you have as according to the brocure on the estate should have a space saver?

I am sure mine is not a space saver as its big enough... Just trying to figure out what it should come with and if it got swapped at the dealers...

btw I'm fairly sure it is the original fitting

the tyre types on the main wheels and the spare are the same

The spare has no wear, and looks like it has never seen the light of day

Model is called Executive (2.0 Auto, leather, alloys, xenon but no navigation)

mine is a hatch. i had an astra once - cdx model, that had 5 alloy wheels. but that was before space savers.

might as well take it out .. as the alloys are locked and I don't carry the "key" for them on me ;-)

We have a 2003 Avensis T3-s. It has the space saving spare. We previously had a 2000 Avensis CDX and it's spare was an alloy - it was never used! I think you only get a spare alloy if it's the top of the range model.
