Garage Recommendation In Leeds

Can anyone recommend a good garage to take my corolla to in Leeds. I'm trying to stay away from the dealers and national chains as they provide a poor service and are too expensive. Also as the car is almost 8 years old I don't want to pay their extortionate prices for repairs. I have just had some oil cooler pipes replaced and the car has come back with a strange creaking / rattling sound from underneath, which wasn't there before the repair. The exhaust was removed during the repair, so i'm thinking that is the cause. It is particularly bad when going over bumpy roads at low speed < 30mph. Attempts by the same garage to rectify the problem haven't helped. They claim it could be the engine mounts or sub frame !!!! I would like to get this problem sorted as it is getting worse by the day.

I assume you are aware that you are quite within your rights to go back to the original garage and insist they put right what they have seemingly done wrong, it is a pain to do this sometimes as they may try to atribute this to being a new problem......do try though if only for the legal priciple that the service you have been provided with and paid for should be to a reasonable standard.

If your complaint fails (Speaking in firm tones audible to customers in the vicinity - don't get aggressive or they are within their rights to have you ejected and refuse to deal with you) - ask which trade association they belong to and ask them to take it up or for the cost of about £50 a stiffly worded letter from your solicitor may spur them into action..... good luck with however you try to get it sorted.
