New Or Used Ts

Right...

As you should know Im looking to buy a Black TS. Im not sure weather to get a P1 (only 5 used ones on the market at the moment for £7k and under!) or just buy a brand new one.

I know the new one will be more expensive, BUT... I've found some deals.

I can get a Black TS P2 for £10,400 through a company but I deal with my local Mr T.

Otherwise for a second hand one I may have to drive 100 miles plus just to go and see it. Their are none locally, not even within 50miles!

Just thinking it maybe easier to get a brand new one, 3dr, may even put in Sat Nav for fun! (If its good).

While on that point. Does Toyota and Lexus share the same Sat Nav technology? Cause I've heard the Lexus SAT NAV system is one of the best. Do Toyota use it?

Finally the insurance difference is only £15 between them both. And I have the money so its not a huge issue. (Yes Im 18 and I have £12,000, i work hard okay!)

Danke!

Personally I like the back of the P2 more, but Im still not sure about the lights, the P2 ones are crystal which is better the P1 look a bit plastic, but not sure if the eyedrops make it look... girly?

Your opinions as always are greatly appreciated!

P2 all the way!

£10,400 is a fantastic price for a new TS - thats what my T-Spirit cost me! Thats a really good deal - you you really want to let that kind of deal slip away?

I'd say go for it - you wont regret it!:thumbsup:

Everything about the P2 is fab - yep even those girly teardrop lights!

What colour you looking at?

Reading your post it almost sounds like you've got your mind made up already to go with the new P2 TS and that's what I'd do. Three years warranty, all scratches your own, that new car smell (which is nowhere near as nice as it used to be in the old days, young feller!).

Your money though mate.

Yeah I know, just never thought about getting new until a few hours ago when I found out my current car is worth about £500 more than I thought and my mum hand the idea.

Also I did lie a bit.

Got £7k right now, so will do a loan for £3.5k for 3yrs which is only £100 a month, so no biggy. Otherwise may borrow the money off parents with my own personal interest-free loan :D

Anyone know about the Sat Nav then?

hi mate, its a personal choice really the phase 1 or 2 i had the choice and as you know went for the phase 2,i liked it better :D

you do get alot of xtra tweeks with the phase 2, crome bits and bobs inside,

carbon bits, back seat handle is different.

think there is a thread somewhere on the differences poss by reece

but for that money you cant really go wrong its a good deal

and you never really know the history of a used car ;) and you wont get that new car smell and feeling.

( now you can carry on looking at my car :P :lol: )

I would trying to find out when the p3 is coming out.. cos once it does.. the resale value of p2's will drop.. if you can live another year, and save another couple of grand.. you might be able to get a p3.

Just a thought.. if i was going to get one right now.. it would be brand new.

I dont think the P2 teardrops are girly! no way! They look far more modern compared to the P1 IMHO but both are good .

Also yeah go for new if you can afford it, you're young and might as well go for it.

Yeh also back seats have memory, which is good! Going to pop down the dealer on Monday, see if they can get one in for me to test-drive, or even get my own car in to test drive :D have a quick burn down the by-pass dualcarrage way see how she feels and handles.

il run a search for that comparison, does sound familiar.

As for modifications, most likly minimal, TTE Springs, some window tints, maybe a strut brace just make the car handle better with toyota bits and pieces so its easily sellable afterwards. Maybe upgrade Speakers as well, but thats it. Plain and simple.

And now... without further delay back to those really good pictures (of kimis yaris, nothing else of course :P )

see if you can get a test drive in a demo with a few miles on the clock,

as it will feel better.

my car felt slugish for the first 500 mile, its fine now :D

and remember you have not gotta buy it from the place you test drive it.

I should think so too! Do you think adding an SC to it may have made an ickle difference as well? :D

Haha, Al J you beat me too it with the SC comment!

Going down the local anyway, see if they can price match the deal I got online, which goes through them anyway, but im sure they will be pleased if i go direct then they dont get the middle man having their cut.

My local doesn't have a TS demo, its lame. Will try and find one that does.

Gonna ask in the general about the Sat Nav, i can't find anything! And Im a lad who loves a good gadget! Makes everyone so jealous.

Plus a brand brand new test driver will have stiff pedals - they need to be a bit run in for you to get the full experience!

Wont be supercharged like Kimis though - unfortunately! They really need to make that supercharger a standard thing on all models I think!:lol:

Yeah maybe they will say

"Well the P2 is nearing the end of its life, so we are doing a supercharged special edition. Do you want the first one?"

"oooooo yes please :D"

Situation Chance of Happening: 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000

But still possible.

You might want to think about getting an aftermarket sat nav like Tom Tom either for car or PDA. That screen in the Yaris is great for mpg, cd, etc. but small for sat nav and not in colour.

Where's The Voice of Reason when you need him? He's got Toyota sat nav on his P2 T Sport.

Found that Topic, it was TVOR!

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...0&hl=comparison

The headlamps have been restyled into a teardrop shape and the inner surface has been chromed to improve light dispersion to give better illumination at night. T-Sport models share the same lights instead of the smoked versions of their predecessor.

Redesigned front bumper.

Extra reinforcement has been added to the sills and A-pillars to reduce cabin intrusion in the event of a crash.

New mesh design has been added to the radiator grille and bumper vents

All petrol engines meet the upcoming Euro IV requirements by using new piston designs, a revised exhaust manifold and catalytic converter and new programming of the ECU.

Power steering fitted as standard across the range

The rear clusters on the Yaris have been tweaked over the outgoing model and are now all red, to give a cleaner look

T-Sport models feature fog lights in the rear bumper.

All models now come with ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBFD) as standard.

Passenger and side 'bags are standard on all but the base T2 specification, and three-point seat belts are fitted to every seat. In the event of a frontal impact, the brake pedal dislocates from its fixings, which should minimise ankle injuries. A transponder engine immobiliser is fitted on all trim levels, all bar the T2 have remote central locking and an alarm is available as an option on all models except the T-Sport, where it is standard.

A leather steering wheel with integrated audio controls is fitted to the top two trims levels.

T-Sport is made in Japan, the others are made in France... thumbsup.gif

Yes there was even a thread recently asking where he was.

You'd also find the chrome bits in the interior of the P2 more like the Polo. Whether that is good or bad, I don't know but I remember being a little jealous of the little extras in my girlfriend's Polo compared to the P1 Yaris I used to have.

She's replaced it now with a new Va :censor: ll Tigra. Lovely looking motor but my interior's definitely the flashiest now!

Also, do you think I could get Mr T to fit the TTE Springs pre-delivery? Also been talking to Jerry, and his wifes TS had window tints put on by Mr T. Rekon I could get them to add that in as well.

If they match the price and we sign a deal, il see if they can get those added in. Probably work out cheaper, if they can do it that is.

Mr T may be able to add those bits before you take delivery. Easy way to find out.
