My G7 - It Beeped. Lots...

Afternoon all... Wondering if anyone has any clue what this is all about...?

Got to the motor last night, remote unlocked the car (had shot the deadbolts across as well when I locked it earlier), and as I opened the door it started to beep at me. Beep sounded like it came from the boot, but not entirely sure as I only got about 10 beeps to try and find it. Had to take some people home so didn't have chance to recreate it then and there, but tried it when I got home, and cannot make it beep for the life of me now...

Quite confused, and like a new mother, concerned just cos I haven't got a clue what it was and why. Anyone got any ideas? I wonder if its something to do with the Alarm, but its been activated loads (really must sort out that sensitivity!), and its never beeped at me once I get in...

Yes, very confused........

Hmmm, I had the same thing once or twice recently - sounds like a beeping in the boot but I can't see why or where!!!!!!!!!

If I hear it again I will give Toyota a shout and let ya know  the result....

Wicked, cheers Gordy... Am about to rip my centre console to bits trying to find that Alarm de-sensitizer, so while I am attacking her with a screw driver, I might have a poke around in the boot, see if I can at least find whats beeping, and any clues as to what might be making it beep!

I swapped my 7th Gen Celica for a mk2 MR2 a couple of years ago, but I remember the car making some beeps when getting out of the car - was very rare though, probably only happened about 5 times in the 2 years I owned it  Never did find a reason for it, nothing to do with the lights left on, and it wasn't the reverse beeping.

Hi all

I have had these beeps happen to me on occasion, usually when switching off the ignition and getting out of the car. I think it has been down to the fact that i have accidently pressed the alarm button on the key fob whilst turning the ignition and opening the door.

I can only guess that the alarm beeps a warning because it has been activated (although accidently) with one of the doors open. Maybe Defiant Frog you had pressed the key fob alarm whilst opening your door hence the warning beeps.

Just a theory :D

That's one idea i guess. It is fairly easy to hit the alarm key on occassions.

First one to their car - test the theory please

Mine's parked underneath work, so next time I got for a smoke (30 mins or so I reckon!) I'll check it out. Nice idea, and quite possibly fits!

Oh, the name's Ben by the way, just to make calling me something a bit easier! :)

Will be back to you in a little while with my findings!

Bingo - nice one Splash!

Open the door, press the remote lock button, and you get 37 beeps from your boot! Feel a bit foolish for bringing it up now...
