Every fuel injected car has a fuel pressure regulator. The aftermarket ones are adjustable, so you can enrich or lean the mixture en mass. However, you have a lamdba sensor so the closed loop control will compensate for it in idle/cruising conditions.

They only offer any advantage if your car is very heavily tuned and you have an aftermarket ECU which is mapped to use maximum duty cycle on the injector pulse. If that is still not rich enough, then the FPR can be used to get more fuel for a given time pulse. I don't think an NA engine would ever get to this stange though, maybe if it was fully race spec.

People have had lots of problems with aftermarket FPRs, and the Toyota ones are normally pretty good (it's about the last thing turbo Supra tuners recommend changing).

the FSE i had installed was on a 1.6 honda 16V SOHC. There was a definate improvement in power and throttle response... i only paid £15 for the FSE so thought it was worth a try. I wouldnt like to change it on my toyota unless someone else has tested one first but as u say its unlikely to give any benefit.
