New Clutch And Flywheel - Slippage

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Just got a new clutch and flywheel fitted on Thursday night. XTD 6 paddle and a Fidanza wheel. The problem I've got just now is that the car drives fine but if I plant it the clutch appears to slip. Eg: driving along nicely, pull out to overtake and plant it in third, revs shoot up and car stays at the same speed.

I checked with the lad I bought the clutch from that this wasnt part of the bedding in process and he said nope. I noticed the bite point is very high up on the pedal so am wondering if there are any adjustments nessesary when fitting a new wheel and clutch that maybe the garage forgot to do.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rikki

weird... I had no issues when my clutch and flywheel got fitted. Curious as to why it would be slipping... I would defo take it back to the garage.

Was it a brand new clutch???

the garage should have noticed it was worn etc if it was a second hand one. Signs of it slipping in the past.

My clutch for my GT does the same, totaly lost all grip at crail when hammering it down the 1/4 did have a lovely burning smell as well, but under normal driving conditions its fine. Im guessing my clutch is borderline then??
