Good News For My Celica

Sent my Celica in today to have the brakes sorted out - see: here

and for the mechanic to check all over to see if he could find any signs of an oil leak (see: here )

And finally to have the MOT done (next door).

The mechanic took the car straight for it's MOT - which it failed :( - but luckily just on the number plate lights not working - 2 bulbs later and it passed!

The brakes turned out to be the wear indicator on the pad! It has a metal strip inside the pad which starts to make noise when you get down to it! - I had a new set of pads on the front and I had him lathe the discs down a bit because they had looked a bit wavey on the surface since I got the car.

No signs of oil anywhere  ! Consumption dropped right down (in that it hardly used any oil) over winter, but has just started to rise again - may try 15w-40 for the next lot

So anyway I'm happy! No major expense - just shows the quality of these amazing machines! 9 years old 110k miles on the clock and still going strong with no signs of mechanical wear and tear!

*edit*

Maleborn - The brighter eBay lights passed straight off - I told the mechanic the originals were in the boot if it failed but they were fine
