Exhaust Help – 1996 Si

I’m a complete ***** when it comes to mechanics, so please be kind.

The exhaust back box on my 1996 Si is slowly corroding away and (apart from looking terrible) it’s sounding odd. So I thought I might splash out on a new one(and teach myself some really basic car maintenance at the same time).

I’d like to get a more sporty tall pipe – but not one of those massive, loud, farting sounding designs – something subtle that’s more performance than looks.

I’ve seen some over at topgear.co.uk that look ok – can anyone recommend a setup, or even some guidance on getting a full exhaust system from the manifold?

Cheers

:)

Hey i was asking a similar question earlier on and somebody reccomended WWW.POWERFLOW.CO.UK, and apparently they rebuild you exhaust system to the way you want it e.g noise level and style of tip etc...

check my garage for list of mods you may be interested in doing to your SI.

SES for exhaust in Nottingham are excellent and put Powerflow to shame!!!!

SES use a better 304 grade stainless steel rather then the 301/302 used by Powerflow, will design and fit the exhaust better then powerflow. Tuning is available so it can be loud on throttle and almost normal when driving, so it doesn't annoy and deafen you!!
