Reverse Light(s)

Hi All,

Bit of a daft question but how many reverse lights does a Phase 2 Yaris have? I'm certain it's only one but when I was reversing my car in the dark outside my house my Mum and her Friend were watching as her Friend was leaving and they didn't believe that it only had one light and said that I should double check incase the 2nd wasn't working

Please clarify this for me :)

Just the one on European Yarii, but the Vitz does have two, as it doesn't have a rear fog light

Your reverse light will be on the passenger side.. and your fog lamp on the other passengers side.

Loads of cars only have one rear fog. Probably just as well considering the number of people who leave them on when they shouldn't.

I spent an hour wondering why my phase 1 t sport didnt have any reverse lights in the main abck lights when fitting my lexus lights, then i figured out it has 1 in the bumper haha!

Phase 2 T-Sport has 2 fog and 2 reversing lights All other models have one of each.

hmmm it appears that they moved the reversing light into the rear/brake light cluster and put another rear fog light at the bottom.

That exhaust also looks alot better than on the Phase 1 for some reason

Looks more symmetrical (spell symmetrical then earpl!) and a lot better in my opinion.

much nicer looking rear end than the Phase 1 I think, like you say, much more balenced; they've even put a "vvt-i" Badge on the back.

(The Phase 1 TS I've got doesnt have one, I therefore presume that no ph1 TS's had it.....if they did then some1 has nicked mine!)

Phase 2 back is better but i think phase 1 front look better

opel - my phase 1 t-sport has a vvti Badge, but it didnt come with the centre toyota Badge near the wiper lol

.....ah after checking some rear shots on autotrader it appears that some PH1 TS's have a vvti Badge and some don't. Nice consistancy there from toyota :)

So if you have a 'cut and shut' Yaris, make sure the back end is a phase 2 and the front end a phase 1

Yep the reverse light on the P2 is on the passenger side, and after a closer look today it's pretty damn obvious that there is only one:

In that photo the left hand side (as you look at the car) the reverse light is definately a slightly different colour to the light on the right..
