Done - same with Goodwood near me - at least they can now use that for a limited number of days / weekends a year now after Lord March re-opened it.

Tell you why.......

similer thing happened in Germany a few years ago now.

....since the war British forces in Germany had a Huge training area just south of Hamburg, known as the Luneburg Training area, this are , =was also even though a training area considerd a nature reserve, all around the area were the heather heaths....

anyway over the years many people moved into the area, because of its wonderfull scenery, and cheap house prices, due to the usage of the area(tank noise, general military goings on etc etc).

anyway after the fall of the Berlin wall and Colapse of the Eastern Bloc, infact rumblings for many years, before this even, people were saying.....ah the prices are low because of the British, "Brits out", and for many years the German Govt said no, .....

untill the leftys got in.....and said yes, closed the training area, and some of the Homes that had been occupied for many years near to the trg area, or the new homes that cost chips to build because of being near the training area , suddenly went up in value by 200%-300%-400%........................

Thats......why people move into these area, becuase ythey know after time because of all the Political one upman ship, the eventually it will be moved/closed or demolished.

and house prices go up!

in this case though the thing kinda backfired, becasue the British army got so fed up of this change in atmosphere in Germany they Closed Barracks. trainig area and other areas where German civilians were empployed...

resulting in Unemployment, and some towns relyed heavily on the british, so some towns basically died a death.....and what happened, eastern Europeans, Kosovan refugess moved in, and replaced the wealthy British "Community" and the towns are hell holes now

and house prices go DOWN!!.....................Better the devil you know

Yeah, the irony is simply that the people that have lived there for years are happy with the tourism it brings to the area...

Its the 'commuters' who have moved out of London/Swindon and into the villages that are complaining..
