I´m waiting for my new Corolla T-sport and i wonder if anyone knows if there is any difference between the 2002 year T-sport Corolla and the newest 2003, besides manufacturedate then :D

Any enhancements to the isolation? Because i know that the 2002 version has very loud engine-noise @ 110 km/h and it will go away when reaching 140 km/h.

Any other new features perhaps?

Sorry to say that, but if the noise disturbs you, the car's just not for you, mate.

Go for Renault.

Just wait till its run in and you can use all the revs not just the first 4000 ....

then... just wind down the windows and listen to the music :) esp over 6200 its magic

i belive there are 2 solutions:

firstly if most noise is at 3700-4000 rpm, if you drive over 80mph the revs are over 4000rpm and it goes quiter (not sure how well it would work with the police)

secondly there are some modified exhausts that make it quiter

I don´t really get disturbed by the sound, i like when i can hear the engine. But perhaps someone that rides with me get irritated by the noise.

Well, i have to tell that person to just enjoy the amazing machine it really is :D

I´m gonna do "the lift" often and smoke the cars that is in my rearmirror :P

Ahhhh, i can´t wait any further... i want my car NOW!!!! :D

... thats a dificult one ... my g/f always complains about that ... "owww ive got a headache.... its so noisy"

several options i can think of:

1) she can get out and walk (however you may regret this later)

2) drive crazy and she will be to scared 2 speak

3) ear defenders

4) turn up the music

5) education about your machine ... this usualy sends her to sleep

anyone has a better way to solve this problem ...

I thought that this forum was for the differences between

2002 and 2003 CTS. But noone said anything about that.

Are there any differences or it is just the same car?

By the way are there any differences between 2001 and 2003 Celica TS?

apart from visual and TCS, VSC. I mean any defects or minor problems that

have been corrected.

thanks

its the same car, maybe some very minor production mods were done, but it is a same car...

as to the noise, you can always shift it to the 6th gear, where it feels as if engine has died on you... it is much better to keep in 3rd, and let the noise be heard as it is meant to be heard

Toyota UK where changing the engine mounts when I first joint this site, not sure what effect this had on the noise issue. I personnaly hardy noticed it, and since fitting the the induction kit this week, I can hardly complain. Wife had her first trip in the car this week since induction kit was fiited, now I'm convinced I did the right thing by fitting coz she actually thought my car was sounding better than it did before, just shrugged my shoulders and said it sounded the same to me  .
