Diagnostic Results Ecu - Supra Mk3 Turbo

Hi Everyone,

I had a Supra Performance Tuning Centre perform a diagnostic test on my Supra Mark 3 Turbo 1990 manual. The Supra on cold start would idle correctly 800 rpm or so then drop to almost clapping out. The car seems to correct itself after 20 mins or so or in some cases not at all. Here are the results.

51 Switch Signal No "IDL" signal, "NSW" signal or "A/C" signal to ECU during diagnostic check A/C switch circuit A/C switch A/C amplifier Throttle position sensor circuit Throttle position sensor ECU

I understand these parts will not be cheap unless I get them secondhand. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to make a comment then please do it will be appreciated. I hope this information maybe can help others if with simular problems.

That diagnostics doesn't tell you exactly what you need to change. You need to take your investigation further based on that diagnostics.

When you've done that then probably a good idea to come back on here and post up what you have found\which part is needed as i'm sure one of us can help you source the part.

chances are I'll have what you need....

But I need to know what that is!!!

Check the idle controll valve is pluged in properly and the contacts are clean... then listen around the engine for air leaks/split vac hoses

Thanks for this info now after spending alot of time going round the engine in the last few weeks there is nothing obvious and now it seems to idle ok. Iv checked electronic plugs, pipes, and that everything is plugged in correctly. The Ecu readout confirmed throttle sensor ecu and engine amongst air con but what could it be?

If it goes wrong again I will be back here hunting for some parts :P I must thank you for all the advice you have given me recently it has been most helpful. Iv put another post about the dump valve I have being group A diaphram. Wonder if you could read it and give me some advice.
