Advice On The Gromit

Hi all,

I need to feed a cable through the gromit. However unless I can fit a device about the size of my fist through the gromit - I will need to feed from the cabin area into the engine bay.

I gave the gromit a little fiddle and it didnt really move or pull out.

Can someone whos removed the gromit (and put back) advise on how best to feed this cable.

The cable is about index finger thick.

Many Thanks

You just have to use force! I managed it with a 10 guage amp power cable! The grommit by the Battery is crammed with wires but it is possible, it just pops out! Its a pain to get back in though! Remove all the tape from the cable entry and re-apply after!

It does take some elbow grease, and you might need a coat hanger to stop it going between the other cables, but it is possible!

hope this helps!

i used both grommits, again just use force they will come out, or just use an object with a sharp end to pirece a whole through it, thats what i did and feed wires through, obviuosly be carefull not to pierce other wires

Sound advice Charlie! Andy uses the grommit by the brake servo, he says its easier to get stuff through... might be worth a go!
