Hi there and welcome

1997 CD, a very good sensible purchase.

As always with 'Modifiying/customising/personalising a car it depends on one's banks balance

You say you want a set of mats, don't laugh but try Halfords they're doing some good quality ones, 'Ripspeed' branded black pile with red, silver or blue badging with the drivers mat having a nice checker plate panel, the set of 4 mats is about £22 due to special offer at moment.

Also you mention wheels ...the sky's the limit on choice and taste (and money  ) on this one.

Personally if you just want to slightly improve the looks (and a little bit of handling) of your car go for 15inch wheels with 195/55 R15 tyres for your Corolla (not 195/50 R15 tyres as a lot of 'packages' come with these).

As for buying wheels look at different 'wheels shops'/rod shops/ accessory dealers and even tyre centres nowadays.

I know you're other half will probabley want 17inch wheels which is the thing to have but beware as this size can sometimes impar handling and make the ride of the car more 'bumpy' (due to less tyre cushioning).

As for servicing what mileage are you at?

Sensible people, you bought a car with full M.O.T  .

If you have no records at all I think you would be best having the 'Cambelt/timing belt changed'. Enquire at a reputable garage. Job may cost around £150 but if this cam/timing belt were to break very serious engine damage may occure. Toyota recommend a change of this belt around 60,000 to 80,000 miles or every 6 years (which ever is sooner).

Who/where did you purcase car from ...they might be able to tell you about any known servicing.

Security window 'etching' sometimes means that the number plate numbers have been etched in a small place on the Glass to help stop theft (A thief can easily change number plates but a full set of glass would be more 'trouble' for them). Also the glass can be 'coded'.

If there is a phone number, give them a ring and inform them (if it's free to transfer!)

I've got a 1996 CDX... and lovin it. It's become my sunday driver, as I've got a company car at the moment.

But every time I get in it, open the sunroof, slip in a CD and smile kreeps up. Dig that little car!

Have a lookey here:

Thread for aftermarket parts

Get some pics up here!

By the way, what trim does your CD have? I've got everything except aircon. (still gotta get rid of that wooden dash)

tilt/slide s-roof

electric windows all round

electric mirrors

ABS

Airbags

etc...

and most importantly... a toyota Badge...:thumbsup:

Leather seats are not something I'd want at the moment, but that's probably more a sour grapes scenario.

Mine had a silly VDO tape player, that was the first item that went.

I'm jealous of the aircon though... :P

Put up a few pics dude...
