Don't know if anybody's perused my garage recently... if you did, you'll have noticed my latest attempt to keep hold of my license for as long as possible!

It's a new iNFORAD! Only £80 and it's belting! It knows everything and you can program it to know your own places! Plug it into your Laptop or PDA and it works as Sat-Nav receiver too! Great stuff!

Have a ganders! http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...ID=2361&CID=130

9D'ya think iv got enough garage links?!?!)

Sounds good!

Do you have to pay monthly for it? and how much are the updates after youve had a year free??

Basically, you can program the distances to when you want to be told there's one there... mines 12secs before and 5secs after when it stops... it beeps three times and flashes red to let you know it's there, then constantly flashes and beeps if breaking the limit.

It doesn't detect mobile laser/radar detectors, but they're gonna be illegal soon anyway, so thats fine. I got it becasue i'll be doing some miles soon to places iv never been and i don't want to get rammed with 3 points for doing 33mph in a 30mph zone!

It's free for 1st years updates, then costs £25 a year to keep it going, or £50 in first month of purchase to upgrade it for life!

The reason it's cheap is because it isn't made brilliantly, it comes in a crappy box and not much has been spent on advertising etc... it's all in the technology.

So if i dropped it accidently it would break?

No, it's still made out of pretty tough ABS plastic. I meant that it doesn't have any fancy LCD displays or Tiff Needel telling you what to do. It's three LED's and a few beeps. What more does one need?

Er.... noo. It's black and manly.

Well! okay then maybe not fluffy bits! Does it tell you what speed you should be doing or does it just beep?

Wow, that pretty nifty

Apprantly, Road Angel 2 wont work this time next year, as they are making all these devices illegal, hence downloads to the road angel will not work - so i hear.

A friend of mine has a TOM TOM Go and its pretty neat cos ontop of navigation abilities, you can put speed camera locations. We downloaded a speed camera database file for free and simply put it on the unit - simple as that. Now when driving, it warns you when you are approaching a gasto or traffic light camera.

If any of you are interested, here is the link where i downloaded the speed camera database:

yeah, it seems that the new Road Traffic bill scheduled for later this year will make the units that detect radar (GPS will still be legal) illegal. So the INFORAD seems really good value.

on what grounds are these devices illegal, if they are only telling you where a camera is?

They are illegal if they tell you you're being tagged by a radar gun, such as those used by Traffic Police.

coolige...i cruise most of the time n e how and where i live thers only 6 cops cars in their entire force..you'll find the cops most of the time busy with other matters, rarely do speed checks, sometimes on a friday theyll be out with the speed gun n thas it.
