So you recomend using better oil?  That excludes toyota's or do they do different stuff?

There's no harm in using a better full synthetic oil, sure.

But again, I don't think this is a "problem" that needs to be "fixed" if you know what I mean?

I totally agree with Scionic on this one, there isn't really a problem. If you want piece of mind take it in to toyota, but personally I think it'll be a waste of money and time.

And yes full synthetic oil is worth every penny, it is more expensive but it is so much better for your engine. But like i say, I used to own a Probe V6 and I HAD to use it, and it used alot in that big lump so the price was no issue to me, besides once you change the oil your sorted as the yaris hardly uses any (well not compared to the probe anywho)

Its ok, i've accepted its not a problem. Someone said it will get a bit better as the miles pile on. (And i might add that i think it has got quieter)

Just want to do my best for the engine to reduce it if possible.

I;ve done over 1000 miles now and been breaking it in. I'm using the revs freely but is it ok to floor it once in a while?

Sure. As long as your engine has been running for a few minutes and you stay out of the redline.

Yes, in fact you should drive the car at various rpm. Read your manual, man! ;)
