Hi Buddy

Have you checked the level 5 or 6 times on level ground?. On these vans the dipstick is not very reliable however if the light blinks on and off constantly this means that there is too much oil and thterfore some needs to be drained off any this will cause pressure on the turbo. If it just blinkls on and off periodically - say when driving up or down hill then you may have too little oil.

You have even have sludge at the bottom of the sump which will cause the oil light mechanism to stick.

Thanks, when i first bought it it was blinking constantly, then stoppped, the garage said they had made sure it had enough so maybe they filled it a bit much. I've done several long drives since then, and when the oil level light came on and stayed on i put oil in and checked the dipstick but it wasn't really clear, as you say, what the level actually was...

another thing i noticed was that when i drive a long distance, i get specs of oil (i think) on the back of the car,, is that something to do with it being over filled, or burning oil?

Thanks for your help :)
