ST 182

Hey guys,

I have just put a 3sge out of a ST182 into my ST 162. Of course the wiring

is totally different and no one in Australia can find a wiring diagram. If anyone has one

or knows where to find one it would be greatly appreaciated.

Also if you have a vacumm diagram i need that as well

Cheers

Brad

I think I have some diagrams that may be helpful. Which electrical diagrams in particular are you after? I will try and get them on here tonight.

I am after the engine wiring diagrams. I have just put the 2nd gen 3sge out of an

import into my australian st162 which had the 1st gen 3sge. I am using the wiring

harness and computer from the 2nd gen 3sge and wiring it into my cars loom. So if you have the diagrams for the engine wiring harness and ECU that would be greatly appreciated.

Just after the diagrams for the 2nd gen 3sge engine loom and ECU.

Trying to figure out what goes where and what i do and dont need.

The engine is also idling way too fast like up at 1500rpm, were my 1st gen

3sge idled at about 700rpm. is this right or is something wrong with the car?

Idle should slow down to 800-900 when warmed up. If it stays on fast idle it could be either the idle speed control valve (on throttle body), or the water temp sensor that feeds the ECU. Is this after you have wired it all up? It could be the wiring rather than the components themselves.

I think my manual is a bit spubik on engine wiring info, but I do have vac system/sensor schematic diagram.

Here are the ECU pinouts in case they are any use to you:

GEN 1 3s-ge (probably!)

and GEN 2 s3-ge:

Cheers for those, i will give them to my auto elec and see

if he can make sense of it. And the vac diagrams would help

heaps for both cars if you have them...

OK, here is the vacuum and engine electrical system layout.

I also have a wiring diagram (inc wire colours) for what is described in my manual as 'early type', and it matches the ECU pinout posted earlier (the one on the black background). Take a look at your new ECU and if the connector arrangement matches that one then the wiring diagram I have is correct for your harness. I don't have any diagrams for the later type ECU.

If you want the wiring diagram, you will have to PM me your email address, as it is too large to post on here.

  • 5 years later...

Hi. Sorry to bring up an old thread, but i am doing the exact same (st182 3sge into st162)

I need a pinout for my st182 ecu, its a pre-december 1991 ecu before the fitout they had. So an early st182 ecu.

was that pinout diagram for the earlier st182 or later? or does it even matter? did it even change?

it was a 89661-20730 (part number).

I asked cause i was aware there was a change in the gen 2 3sge sw20 mr2 engine managements at that date.

Thanks,

Chris :)
