Carpet Under Seats

After having my Toyota sub fitted under the drivers seat I noticed that there was foam sticking out of a great big cut under the passenger seat. I thought Mr T had tried to put it on the wrong side so went to complain, they said it was always there, is this true of anyone else's car?

Mine is a Phase 1 T-Sport, which is a European Import, so the excuse was that the cut was under the passenger instead of driver because it was an import...

Any comments would be helpful...

Here's some pictures...

They're telling huge, fat, porky pies!!! There should in no way, shape or form be a hole there. They've done it wrong and now they're covering up! Iv got a tiny hole in that side ready for a multi-changer, but that's on the upright bit near the front.

To fit the sub, i think they slide a piece of wood under the carpet and then screw it down..... looks to me that's what they've tried to do here before realising the tray under the seat makes it non-fittable.

I'd demand a new carpet, that isn't right at all.

Well the sub under the drivers seat is not screwed down at all, it's stuck with some sticky foam stuff to the metal chassis of the car.

They have taken out the foam from the passenger side and said they are going to replace that.

I need to double check with someone else who's got an import, if they have lied, I am going to be even more :censor: than I was when I first saw it...

Just looked and thats a load of bull mate - as Seveer says theres a tiny slit ready for it - not a huge gaping thing like that,

Get back onto them and threaten them ... head office generally gets their attention.

Afraid to say MrT has made a mistake and trying to cover it up. I have the Toyota Active Sub and this is located under my drivers seat. It is held down by strips of Velcro so you can remove it if you need to. Because my Yaris is phase2 I ran the cable from the headunit down the middle near the handbreak and up through the hole in the carpet that was already there for the cable which leads to the side airbags located in the seat. Take it back and demand they replace it to how it was before they carried out the work.

Yarisldc.

The cut is underneath the back of the passenger seat. Since this is the seat that moves forward to let people out of the back seat I would have noticed it. I am going back tomorrow to talk to someone of a higher power to sort it out, not just put the foam back under the carpet.

If not, I have the Toyota Customer Relations phone number at hand, maybe they'll be able to do something about it...

Is is possible I can get a picture of underneath someones passenger seat, if they've got the smae colour interior, so I can prove to them that there was no cut, I'd like to see their faces after that...

lad someone has made a big :censor: up here I hate this :censor: who ever fitted this did not know his **** from a tit, I’d get on to customer care first and tell your story cause they log all calls because if you leave it any longer the dealer may have a case stating that they knew nothing about it. But if customer care have a logged call you have a better chance so ring them first and then hit the dealer it’s your best bet

Cheers for all the help, my plan of action tomorrow is first to visit a different local dealer to see what they say about it, then go back and demand the manager takes a look, if he does not say that they are sorting it out by booking me in immediately for a repair, then a customer relations call will be made straight away.

I'll let you know how it turns out...

They just said they'd sort it out, by fitting a new carpet, still going to log a call with Toyota Customer Relations just to make sure they keep their word...

Will let you know when it is actually finished...

Well, I have just picked up my T-Sport from Mr T with a brand new carpet fitted.

Also I have BRAND NEW alloys, was having them refurbished because I was one month out of warranty, and they gave me brand new alloys instead. Ideal!!
