Carina Brake Discs Changing

Hello to all.

I need help with respect to front brakes for my Carina. I have a Carina 1.8 Automatic (Kudos).

Having faced problems with brakes, I had got it checked with my local garage. The feedback was that front brake discs are warped and need to be changed (and ofcouse the pads as well) - and that will cost me around £200 approx.

1) Is it about the right price to pay - it seems a bit on the expensive side.

2) Is it easy enough to change brake discs/ pads if I can get cheaper parts over internet?

Any comments/ suggestions will be much appreciated.

get over to www.brakesinternational.co.uk for your discs . changing them is easy if you know how to strip off the front calipers and put new pads in.the discs maybe held on by 1 screw maybe not , getting them off is just a case of a tap with a hammer.

front discs £45 the pair

Agree, About £50 pair for oem discs and £30 for ferodo disc pads. Fitting is a doddle with a jack, spanners, pliers.

I got a pair of front discs and a pair of brake pads for my 1.8 Carina E from Sapmotorparts about 2 years ago for £60 including vat and delivery. Fitting them was quite easy, not much more difficult than a change of brake pads.
