Hi,

I need your help.

I have a small rip in my convertible roof. I have tried for weeks to find someone that can repair this or a repair kit that I can buy so I can do it myself but I have had no luck! :crybaby:

I can't leave it much longer as the rip is getting bigger everytime I put the roof down.

Your help is much appreciated,

Louise

Anyone that works with canvas etc should be able to patch it up for now ..

Try searching for that around London, bound to be a few places!

Is it an MR2 Spyder you have then?

I saw a repair kit in Halfords - no idea how easy it is to use or how good it is. Also no idea on price

Not much use am I! but I did see one so it might help

Thanks Sotal but I have already been there and tried that. They said that I have to be careful cause the glue could melt the roof! Nice one!!

What a nightmare!!

I'll try them again though I think.

Excuse me It's not "JUST" a Roadster, It's a magnificent piece of equipment :P  (just a tad biased ;) )

Look under "Vehicle upholsterers" I'm sure there must be one near you, if it's like the ones near me they do hood repairs aswell.

Good luck and welcome to the club by the way.

Even with a tear, it'll be more reliable than us blokes anyhow. ;)

Is it still under warranty? May be Mr T (Toyota) can help?

I'd suggest an upholsterers though. As Giddlepin suggests (and he is a fellow roadster).

I'm a lad and I know I'm as unreliable as hell .. I link to this it's "part of the charm" .. I think the other half thinks it's a "pain in the :ffs:"

Good looking girls in jap cars always does it for me .. but I'm more of a Mk2 MR2 kinda guy.

Hope you'll not be needing the roof much longer :)

Never having owned a MKIII (Roadster), I don't really know what to suggest. I had a brief search of the MX5 owners club, but the best sugestion they advise their members is a new roof.

I also found this (which I imagine is similar to the Halfords stuff):

Then a link of the MR2 Roadsters club:
