Induction Roar Haha!

just been playing about today with my car in the sun (as u do) when i decided to disconnect the air pipe from my air box as the pipe looked really restrictive to air flow and it ends behind the front left headlamp which to me seems an odd position for optimum air flow!

after disconnecting it i took the car out for a few miles and discovered to my delight that there was an induction noise! most prominent in 3rd and 4th

anyone else with a 1.0 done this? I'm thinking about a cold air feed next but am a little stuck on where to put it

Sam :hokus-pokus:

Sounds good!

The roar on mine isn't quite as loud as I'd expected, I'm hoping to sort a second cold air feed to improve it!

Really want a second one but not sure where to run it!

Piping was just from local car spares place, he had loads of different sizes so i'd sort your measurements out first.

It was £7.99 mind you!! & mines only quite a small diameter, does run to about 90cms though.

I didn't know what it was called but apparently its 'flexible aluminium piping'....

Hi yarisboy

Glad to here that you have done something to you airbox at last. So are you happy with the end results then.

Once you have got the cold air feed in you will notice a better response and induction roar mate

yes thanks jerry i'm pleased at the moment, haven't got the courage to drill the airbox just yet though lol

might get a conical filter to put on the airbox itself, then remove the drop in filter

will see how it goes

Quick question, if you've disconnected the pipe what are you using as a filter ???

I hope you didn't drive it around with just the end hanging off...

Me hears a new engine on the way :)

no ryan the filter is within the airbox, the 'intake pipe' is connected to the air box and can be disconnected with a little difficulty

all it does is free up the air box so more air gets to the filter
