Hi-ace Warning Lights

Hi does anyone know about the warning lights on a 1994 Hi-Ace please? My van has suddenly started displaying red warning light on the right hand side of the dash under the dials and the picture looks like a rectangle with a series of vertical lines above it. I don't have the manual so I don't have any clue what it could mean! :(

Can anyone help out with advice or even link me to somewhere I can view the manual please?? Its an import but I'm assuming the warning lights will be consitent with a UK/European model??

Thanks,

Naresh

If you could get a photo and upload it then that'll be great but it sounds like the catalyst over-heat warning light. This is only on the Jap imports as it is the law to have the cat-temp warning light over there.

Now, this light comes on when the cat gets really hot, i.e. mixture too rich, misfire etc. Do not park the car near the grass or anything that can catch fire.

Engine overheating at a guess (cooling system) but not 100% sure

The engine coolant is a bit akin to a roman temple pic but thats on the left.

Manuals are available on e-bay and elsewhere, There are a few hiace owners at

http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/HiaceSuperCustomWagons/

who may be able to help with specific hiace probs....

If the symbol on the right also has a drop of oil under it, then its the autobox fluid.

Check the oil level with the engine hot and running, after going through the gears a few times
