I have a 1991 Carina II Estate, goes well at 154,000 miles but the NSR shocker has just gone completely. Are these rear struts the same as the saloon or any other Toyota model? Does anyone know where I can get replacements, preferably upgraded? Just for the moment I'd settle for a second-hand unit.

Hi,

Those Carinas are tough cookie. Look after them and they'll go forever.

Now, onto the shocks. Struts are the same as the saloon.

For upgrading, I will recommend Monroe 'Reflex'. They are wonderful shocks. If you are after lowering and stuff, this will not be your cup of tea but if you are after good balance of handling and comfort this is the one.

You can check it out at;

According to their catalogue, the parts number you require is: E4435

Hope it gets sorted soon. :thumbsup:
