What alloys can i get for the toyota avensis,

1.8GS T reg

i presume i can fit 17's without much trouble. and 30mm is advised

but where can i buy any alloys from? is there a retailer or can i just walk in to halfrauds and they will have some

SAme for the springs. i have seen some 40mm drop springs for £70 but i hear these are not best choice to drop the car by? any reasons why?

Please help if you can

HI ,THE 40 MM DROP WOULD REQUIRE NEW SHOCKS AS 40 MM WOULD BOTTOM OUT THE DAMPER,NOT REALLY ADVISABLE.

AS FOR THE alloys AS LONG AS YOU GET A SET WITH THE CORRECT OFFSET ,BETWEEN ET 35 AND ET 39 WITH THE CORRECT 5 STUD 100 MM PCD AND MOST IMPORTANTLY A CENTRE BORE OF 54 MM, ANY WHEEL WILL DO Halfords OR ANY GOOD CAR SHOP WILL SELL THEM ,IT WILL BE THEN DOWN TO YOUR STYLING CHOICE BY THE WAY 18 X 7 1/2 WILL FIT THE AVENSIS WITH 225/35 X 18 RUBBER BUT IT GETS A BIT EXPENSIVE THEN,HOPE THIS  HELPS

I have 40mm drop ones, by TTE (part of Toyota Dynamic Pack) - there was NO need for new shocks.

I never have any problems with catching/rubbing, uneven tyre wear..

I have Hi-Octane H109 17s alloys with 215/40 Toyo T1 tyres.

I recently saw a set of my lowering springs on eBay - they are a part of the 'dynamic kit' toyota used to sell as an accessory for the avensis. The springs could be 30mm, as theres no indication of exact drop on the box, but they are made by TTE, and are supposed to just swap with the originals. Otherwise TOYOTA would have given me shocks aswell.

I'm not saying dizzy is wrong in what he's saying, but I have never had any problems, and I have had my car for nearly 5 years.

I also had a FULL GEOMETRY check done by Tony Bones from wheels-inmotion.co.uk and he even said all was well.
