My Yari

It got delivered on Tuesday lunchtime, and now lives in our garage...

...introducing my 1999 Toyota Yaris S 1.0l VVT-i

With high insurance prices in the UK and my long legs I was limited in the japanese cars I could get, Honda Civics cost about £4000 to insure and Nissan Micras about £5500 to buy, so i got this little beauty.

Its a base model so no PAS or electric windows, but i'm a big strong lad so that shouldn't matter too much! I'm going for the JDM look, and was lucky to find a totally white car (most have black plastic bumpers) I wont be fitting rims just yet as they add heavily to the cost of the insurance but once I get my 35% drop from having a year's no-claims there'll be plenty of mods.

Kinda cute you'd say>>>

I'll probably get a boot spoiler at some point>>>

Nice touch on the doors>>>

13" rims, on skinny tyres, woo>>>

A set of C-west brows will look good>>>

Green/grey interior>>>

Signifies this is the base model>>>

1.0l VVT-i motor - most powerful 1.0l motor in class>>>

First mod, a joke christmas present>>>

Finally, I found this on the windscreen and I think it somes it all up>>>

To many of you on here its probably nothing special but its my first car and i love it!

I'm really liking the Yaris logo on the side - that's a nice touch! Bring on some nice alloys and a spoiler.

Caz

"rims"

"brows"

I removed my "made in japan" sticker :D

Lookig good mate, you could do a few inexpensive mods to begin with, like colour code wing mirrors £40ish.

By a sunstrip and make into eyebrows etc etc

cut mats and insert into interior etc etc

Hell no!, i want to stick to JDM (japanese domestic market) blocky colours and only practical mods that improve the car not ruin it, if i was a boy racer i'd've bought a corsa or a saxo.

Wheel wise, i'm not going to look at any thing over 15" and then i'll only want black or graphite not chrome. Boot spoiler front lip and eyebrows yes, CRAPCEPT kit no!! and to be honest, i don't listen to enough music to warrent an ice install.

Looks great! :D My Yaris is white too (and it's my first car as well :)) although, mine is a Phase 2 so it has those black strip bumper thingies but it has colour coded door handles .

I've only ever seen one other white Yaris round here, they are very rare. Enjoy it... :D

PS Welcome to TOC!

Thats a lovely little car - well done you! I agree with Charis & Blaze - those Yaris decals look great - a really lovely addition!

I dont really like white cars, but theres something about white Yarii - they just look so clean and crisp! Definately a good choice!

I love the white Yaris! Very popular abroad but rare as hen's teeth over here because not available as a colour option on all models. And yeah mate, it is "something special"... it's your car!

I can't see the pictures.. but i'm sure is a cracker. I have a 1/18th scale model of a Vizi (chinees yaris) 5 door phase 2.. and it looks very nice in my cabinet, as your does in your garage :)

Good to hear your not getting a crappy plasticy bodikit crap thing put on it.. they look awfull don't they? :P

Ooh very nice! I love those decals too, they are a real nice touch - saw one exactly the same (well it looked the same) as this parked at Lakeside today too, and I thought to myself how rare it was - and then saw your photo's!

I used to have a 1.0L, it's very nippy and doesnt feel like a 1.0L either, feels bigger :D

Hiya......and welcome to the family

It looks good it does, it's so good to hear that you want to do some subtle mods.....not too much is good.

I think Graphite wheels would be very nice, i quite fancy that myself!

and maybe a little lowering would be good, just the 20mm like the Tsport, remember tho to tell your insurance Co because i think the would consider bigger wheels and lowering to be performance enhacing.

Have fun and enjoy "your special car".

All the cool kids have a Yaris "s" as their first car...

Don't laugh at those tyres, they only cost about £20 a pop to replace :D Their biggest problem is that they're narrower than some white lines on the road - be careful going on to sliproads as overtaking...

Enjoy it and take care out on them there roads
