Ok, i;ve got three things i'd like advice on......

firstly, any ideas if the dents below can be knocked out or does the shape make it too awkward? If so how much we looking at?

IMG_1654.jpg

Next, these scratches suddenly appeared in a car park when i was at a dog training centre. (got a border collie puppy). Their about an inch long on the rear door. Not sure if its down to the metal or the primer but their dam deep! What should i do?

IMG_1655.jpg

And finally, anyone know how much it'll cost to fix this? Got so bad that its pushed of the plastic!

IMG_1658.jpg

O, and just thort i'd give you a nice pic of me tsport too!

Thanks all,

Nice looking T-Sport!!

As for your problems..... No 1 - the dents. I had a similar dent in the bumper of my last Yaris (who has since departed) and I was told she would have to have a new rear bumper as they cant be banged out..... mine were bigger though but you'd probably be better off buying and spraying a new rear bumper.

Those scratches look really deep - not exactly a T-Cut job...... maybe need to get a new panel for the door and a respray job.

And sorry but I cant make out the last problem..... :(

o yeah forgot to mention that i asked for a quick price for the window problem from toyota in loughborough and they said £40 for labour plus the new rubber.

Is this about right?

My local toyota (Romford) were suppose to call me about it but they never did. Thats what their like. USELESS!!!!! They'd charge me something silly like £150 anyway....

DOH and DOH!

I only need to replace the bottom part of the bumper tho surely.... its bin replaced before when some nit reversed into me. They had to pay for it! :D #

Think someone's nicked my t-cut ..... cant find it anywhere - might of left it in the porch with the door open and Mr postman has nicked it!

The window rubber is a common fault with yari' can be done on warranty but 40 pound sounds fair as you are out of warranty but imo as it is a blatent design fault toyota should pay for it :(

ROMFORD!! I got my T3 from there - they repaired the key scratch she got too..it was 5/6 inches long, down to the white paint/metall underneath and they quoted approx £300, when it was done they charged less...£250..they did a fantastic job, but as usual the service was terrible...wasnt impressed with their attitude all round so I got the Blue from Rayleigh, in the opposite direction down the A127 and further but worth it.

Yeah, you don't need the bumper (the plastic bit), just the metal valance that fits below it. Rubber repair sounds reasonable enough. Doubt I'd do it for anything less than £40 myself, even if I knew how to!

Could you still see where the scratch was? or was there no trace? I'm glad its just me that thinks their complete pants. Its about time they pulled their socks up.

I've got two mates that live in rayleigh, toyota is at the weir right?

Got my ts from chelmsford. Looks like romford have lost both our custom.

If you pour a couple of kettles worth of boiling hot water slowly over the dents, they will recover their original shape. As for the scratches, they can be carefully t-cut off as long as the scratch does not go beyond the color coat. otherwise, a light coating of touch up paint applied several layers to build up the thickness and carefully buffed with t-cut and polish will work miracles.

Good luck

Nope, couldnt see it at all - not a trace of it, which made me glad I'd used them...she was island green too, so obviously dark which I was worried about. It was the bit that is separate from the actual showroom where the new cars and service is. THey just didnt seem bothered about anything :ffs:

Yeah it's down by the Weir, behind Sainsbury's - if you head towards Southend from Brentwood on the A127 you leave at the Weir, and it's round on the right hand side - if you go there Jo on Service was the one that helped me when they put air-con in the Blue..took her there for 9.30, said she'd be ready at 5 ish, but called me at 1 said two people had been working on her all day and she would be ready after 2 - I was well impressed!

Rayleigh would be closer than Chelmsford too, wouldnt it?

I assume you mean closer for me (its certainly not for you)? Not sure, i think they are around the same. Maybe chelmsford is slightly better coz i get onto national speed roads much quicker - just up the road from me is the A12 and toyota is right next to an exit.

When going to rayleigh i have to go through billericay first. Havn't used chelsmford for anything other than buying the car yet.... keep meaning to go and ask about my engine noise

But i'm sure they'll offer a better service than romford! Its impossible for them not to right? :D

How did you find that out? I'll give it a go when my dad gets back - he takes it to work now. You've got me all excited - cant wait to try it.

Cheers

Yeah I meant closer for you! :D

I forgot about you having to go through Billericay - I'm lazy and go A128/A127, could go down the A13 to Sadlers Farm but I avoid Sadlers at all cost!

Haha yeah they had better offer a better service, but then Romford is pretty bad so anything would be better than them!

had something like that happen on a civic and my 1.0 when i reversed into a tree stump. remembered reading about the plastic having a memory effect when heated so tried it and viola! success.

As for your window channel problem, its a design problem affecting a yarii and echos around the world esp p1s. Mr T replaced mine with a redesigned rubber strip. I suppose you could reinstall yours and hold it in place with some bostic or superglue. then lubricate the inside track with graphite powder to reduce the drag when you use the windows.

Behave yourself DA :cacker:

Chipsaway will sort that out

I will never behave myself Reece - you should know that by now!

Those scratches just looked far too deep for Chipsaway or anything - hence my suggestion!

Er, but that bottom part, the valance, isn't plastic, it's metal! The piece above it is plastic but that bit sure isn't. It would take something a little hotter than boiling water, I think!

that'll be way i had no luck with the kettle then! :crybaby:

Tried four kettles worth and had no luck.

Looks like i'll have to live with the dent. I'm not paying for it coz my dads drives it more than me now.... and he certainly wont do anything about it.

Got a quote from Romford toyota today for the window problem.

they say a new window channel will cost £62 pounds and labour is another £44.

£106 to fix some rubber. How can that be?

Do not use T-cut

The guy i bought my yaris off works as a body and paint repair chap, according to him you shouldnt use any product with Amonia in it, unless the car was pre 1980 (or something)

Amonia slowly bleaches colours under sunlight of new car paint, essentially turning a red car pink, a yellow car beige etc...

*shrug*
