When the wheels turned to the right around the half way mark to full lock i get a strange scraping noise comming from my left front wheel, any ideas what it could be, noticed it earlyer turning round in a close, this is the only time i ever hear it.. when turning wheel to the right, dont hear it when turning to the left as far as i know and nothing when braking..

wasnt sure if was brakes but thought id hear somthing under braking, ball baring maybe?? i have no idea what it is, any of u lot want to shed some light as to what it could be?

Could be the stone deflector for the discs has a stone jammed in it mate.

Also my mate said (when he fixed mine) that he thought that someone did not jack it up properly and blocked it up onto the deflector that caused it to bend slightly but would only scrape when gravity when turning forced the deflector to rub onto the disc or something like that.

Hope it makes sense buddy

Yeah, i have heard this noise too, like Ratus says it only happens once in a while,

i have thought about getting it looked at, but you know what its like, if it is intermittent noise it won't happen when you go to the garage!

I am no help at all am I!.......sorry

I doubt very much that a stone has got in there, the gap just isnt big enough. It's more likely that the stone deflector has moved slightly and is touching the disk waen turning in a certain way.

I get it every now and then, used to get it lots in my old car and the mechanic just adjusted the stone deflector slightly and it solved it.

Its nothing to worry about, just annoying :)

if it were a bearing it'd sound more like a flat tyre when going at higher speeds.

like i say, mine is only intermitant, and im lazy :) so I'm not bothered about it too much, if you happen to know a mechanic pretty well ask them to look at it, shud just be a case of taking the wheel of and adjusting the deflector (if that is what it is), 10min job at the most.

the guy I know did it for free so i stuck a tenner in his back pocket for his troubles.

If it really bothers you get it looked at, dunno how much it'd be to sort from a regular garage though.

it may be something else, but I can't think what, as it's intermittant I doubt that its a serious problem anyway :)

My mate straightened the guard out and its been perfect since.

Get it done mate. There was nothing more embarrassing than turning up at a meet or something and your car sounds naff when you turn the steering.
