R-reg Sunroof

Hi All,

I've an R-reg (97?) 1.6 GS.

If you slide the sunroof all the way back then press the button to slide it closed again it gets half way and stops, youhave to release the button and press it again! AFAIK this is by design.

Is there a quick tweak or some micro-switch I can disconnect so that it always closes all the way?

Cheers,

Jon.

I think it must be a safety design or something, as it does that on mine as well.

Don't really notice it that much....

It's a built-in safety feature to help prevent herds, arms, fingers etc getting trapped

Yep! Does it on mine too. Was very worrying the first time I opened the sunroof and it stopped :fear:

So its not just your Corolla. It isnt that much of a pain. I dont know how you would manage to catch your arm in it anyway if it was all in one! lol

Yes - but can I stop it doing it?

I know safety is why they say it does it but I don't see it myself, it's not like you press and release the button and it closes all the way in one go, you have to keep your finger there. There's plenty of time for anyone to hear the sunroof starting to close and remove body parts from the opening in the very unlikely event that anoyone has a body part in the opening and I don't realise this and keep the button pressed. I just find it annoying but that's me I guess
