If i was willing to spend 2 grand on a starlet gt turbo how much power could i get without making the car unrealible? Approximately

i reckon you could easily get around 20hp-30hp ish....

get forged pistons, conrods, turbo timer, hks fcd, boost controller, wastegate, dumpvalve, and perhaps a fuel pressure regulator or something...then use the change to get it dyno tuned....

£2000 could get you quite alot of power! I would go for a WickedEP turbo back system, also FMIC from same people. Apexi power intake. Sard fuel pressure regulator. Supra fuel pump possibly? and then something like an apexi power FC standalone ECU. I reckon you would probably then have enough change to get the ECU properly mapped

180 bhp can be gotten from the 4efte cheaply enough keeping the ct9, without forged internals. after 180 bhp things start to get very expensive.

beleve me,180 bhp mightnt sound all that much when ur talking hp figures down the pub, but when its in a starlet or a glanza, its a lot. my friend has a mildly tuned glanza (1999) with a dynoed 180 bhp, and its a very quick machine

Exactly, thats why i didnt suggest a turbo upgrade!! You gotta remember that in a glanza, 180bhp is approx 195bhp per ton. starlet turbos are all about power to weight ratios!!
