on the standard boost gauge where does everyone get on it? to the very top everytime?

i normally get to about 1or 2 from the top. is this normal? :blink:

Depends on outside air temp, temp of engine etc. Once she's warmed up and the air outside isn't too cold, you should be able to slam that needle to the top of the gauge at full boost.

Maybe worth checking your dizzy, maybe it's worn or needs a clean :yes:

The standard 'boost' gauge is pretty pants.

For info though, mine always went right off the scale.

Get a calibrated boost gauge from about £25.

I'am able to get mine off of the plus sign all the time on full boost ;)

the thing is that it was going to the very top and over on friday, since then it's not going as high. anyone know why this would be? :blink:

the standard boost gauge IS pants mate. Get yourself an aftermarke one so you know exactly what's going on.

where's my best bet of getting a boost gauge? eBay?

and someone mentioned a calibrated one, are some of them not? :blink:

a good quality one will be calibrated i.e. Autometer, HKS, Blitz etc.... meaning it will have passed some form of quality control

not just thrown together in the case of some cheapo ones, where the dial just 'ines up' with some locating pins!

better to be safe than sorry, turbos are fragile things if you aint careful
