Dump Valves

Hi,

Iv got a (group A silver dump valve diaphram) on my Supra and I must admit I do miss the sound on occassions of the old piston one I had by Bailey Motorsport on my old R5 GT Turbo.

When I upgrade my engine soon I will consider a BOV style as from what I have read these are the better ones, Blitz and HKS. Technical questions are as follows :- When one accelerates on the one I have air pressure isn't released as quick as it would be if the Piston one was installed. If the pressure is released too quickly on a Piston isn't this a disadvantage in performance??.

I really don't know and also wonder would my old (R5gt turbo one piston) go on my Supra Turbo Mark 3 without blowing it? It would appear that the piston one I have from the old renault turbo is the same one for sale for my supra currently.

Iv owned a few Supra's since 1997 wouldnt buy anything else! :P

Hi all again,

If no one has a response for me then this is what I think about piston and or dump valves that give out too much pressure. I think a dump valve in a piston form gives off too much pressure too fast.

My GT Turbo didn't perform well with it! The supra has a diaphram dump valve and my acceleration is awsome because its not so forgiving. If I place a piston one on the Supra if someone says it will perform better then i question it?

I have read many people opinions around the web concerning the piston type and please if someone disagree's please say. I don't see how it benefits???????
